SPA: Student Performance Assessment (Targeting Learning Behaviours)
The Student Performance Average (SPA) is a measure of a student’s learning behaviours across five performance areas:
Each of these five performance areas are graded on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being the lowest grade a student can receive and 5 being the highest).
It is expected that every student can achieve a minimum of 4 as a SPA, regardless of academic ability. Any student, who receives 3.4 or below, is considered at risk. Teachers will assess students three times each semester. Having three assessments per semester in these criteria will give students the opportunity to lift in the areas needing improvement. SPA reports will be sent out twice during the semester. SPA data will replace the existing “Work Habits” on the end of Semester Reports. Year Level Coordinators may contact the families of students with a SPA below 3.4 to discuss strategies to improve their SPA. If you wish to discuss your child’s report then please contact their Year Level Coordinator. If you have any general questions regarding this report structure, please contact a Year Level Coordinator at the College.
